RM Math Framework Edition (High School)
If you are an existing RM Math Framework customer and you have just purchased the High School content please click here to go to the page where you can download your corresponding region zip file. Please note that you must import the corresponding zip file in Kaleidos before importing the HS content. If you import the content first the resources will not be tagged to the state standards within Kaleidos.
Downloads
Internet Explorer 7.0 and RM Math Framework Edition
When loading Kaleidos and you get a jumbled screen it means you have upgraded to IE 7.0. To fix this you must run this upgrade to your current Kaleidos version and install the Internet Explorer 7.0 fix. Please see instructions above. Kaleidos must be upgraded to 2.1 prior to installing the IE7 fix!
Synchronization Hotfix
This hotfix modifies the synchronization logic and user interface such that:
- When users log on/off Kaleidos they are now asked if they want to synchronize. This has been provided as synchronization is often not necessary.
- The option to synchronize all data has now been moved to the admin menu, along with a stronger warning of the consequences of performing this type of synchronization. This type of synchronization is equivalent to a full back up and should only be done outside the normal school day.
- The synchronizations have been stream-lined causing minimal data transfer between the school and the data center. This modification improves performance and stability of synchronization.
Renaming the Kaleidos Datastore (Ghosting or Imaging)
You will need this tool if you are ghosting or imaging Kaleidos Mobile Clients. The attached zip file contains a PDF with full instructions. If you are getting a 17 DBNETLIB error on a mobile client typically this tool will solve that problem because the computer name and the name in the Kaleidos registry are different. If you are using IE 7.0 please use the 2.1 renaming tool as you would have upgraded your kaleidos to 2.1 to use Internet Explorer 7.
Installing Kaleidos v2.1 using the GPO creation tool
The zip folder contains the Kaleidos V2.1 GPO Tool and the instructions for use. When using this tool there can be no instances of Kaleidos loaded on your workstations. To use this tool you will need to be an administrator of your network and have access to the server. Click on the link and select either Open or Save As and save the file to a temporary folder on your server. You will need to unzip Kaleidos GPO Creation Tool.zip to create a folder which contains the following:
Kaleidos GPO Creation Tool, and all its files and folders.
Kaleidos GPO Tool user documentation - installation and usage instructions.
Issue installing RM Kaleidos® VTLE Datastore on systems with other SQL applications
Kaleidos will not install the Datastore component and the log file may show 'script error 1720 - script engine not installed'
You may find an entry for Kaleidos Datastore in Add/Remove Programs, which will not uninstall, showing the error 'a script file is missing'
Installing the Kaleidos Database manually
If you are having trouble installing Kaleidos there will be times when you will need to install it manually. To do this please use the information in this zip file.

76000 76:path not found method launcher launch
To fix please follow these instructions:

2. Delete the key IE7hotfixinstalled by right clicking and selecting delete
3. Close regedit Download and install IE7 hotfix then re-test Kaleidos
An error has prevented Kaleidos from being installed
When you receive this message it could be due to a couple of different things.
- File and print sharing needs to be enabled
- Need to be logged in with administrative rights
- There is another sql program installed on the computer (In these cases un-installing the other application, installing Kaleidos, reinstalling other application has resolved the issue.)
- Another reason you might get this error is if the default drive (C:) is changed for the Datastore (Database) installation drive to another drive. Currently the Microsoft SQL Server folder (the MSDE instance) MUST be placed on drive C
Could not connect to Kaleidos Internet Services
This error can occur when trying to login to kaleidos and tries to synchronize.
- Please check that the date and time are correct on the computer having the problem
- Make sure you have an active Internet connection
- Incorrect network settings
- Incorrect proxy configuration (please use document below if using a proxy server).
How to docs?
How to ensure resources are available in a shared course?
How to import student data into Kaleidos?
How to change workstations (clients) to use a different Kaleidos® V2 VTLE Database (server)?
Using RM Math Framework Edition with a proxy server
Having trouble running IE activities after IE 7.0 upgrade?
Why resources might show as not available to students in Kaleidos?
To make sure that resources are available in Kaleidos you must first create a course. Many teachers tend to drag a resource into a folder in "My Area" and then try to assign them to students from there. The "resources not available" message can appear as it's pointing to a shortcut and not the actual resource. To prevent this from happening you need to create a course (new course) and add the resources to the course, then save it. Then you will need to launch the course in teach mode and assign activities from there. When properly assigning the resources this way you will avoid this kind of problem. You also need to make sure that synchronization is enabled on your machine for any changes that you have made to properly synchronize to the RM Datacenter. Then students will have these resources available to them.

Synchronization Flag Tool
Some users of Kaleidos have experienced an issue whereby the Synchronization flag is disabled resulting in school-based Kaleidos users being unable to synchronize. The attached Synchronization Flag Tool prevents the Synchronization flag from being disabled (the Tool includes a utility to reinstate the disable Synchronization function).
