What is the International Baccalaureate Case Study?

At RM Education, we reach so much further than just schools. RM Assessment and Data provide a range of software and service solutions that provide key services to Awarding Bodies - including the international education group and the International Baccalaureate, a partnership that began in 2008.

What does RM Education provide?

We provide innovative onscreen marking services for the International Baccalaureate's (IB) Diploma Programme.

Our team includes business analysts, project managers, developers, service specialists and scanning specialists working with the IB to initially pilot the application and services. The project included new business processes at the IB together with software and services changes at RM Education.

RM Education services include provision of software and the management of the scanning and uploading of examination scripts. This takes place in both the UK and the USA. The IB examiners mark examination scripts from 141 countries around the world.

The positive impact for Examiners

Key priorities of the project included ensuring the continued quality of the marking process whilst enabling the growth in candidate numbers and ensuring a good experience for examiners, regardless of their location. Following a successful trial of the marking services the IB have started a full scale move to onscreen marking for their Diploma Programme exams.
