Ed Shelley
Software Development, Networks"I've worked for RM Education for 5 months. I joined as a Graduate Software Developer. After I started my role with RM Education, after a training period of about a month, I was very soon involved in a real world project. This meant that we were building software that was going to be used in a real school environment and therefore had a risk associated with it.
I think this is something quite rare for current graduate schemes, where graduates might have a training period of a fair few months before they actually get to work with real life projects that have an impact.
Because of the size of the company I find that as a graduate you're very recognised in the way that you don't just blend into a crowd of perhaps 50 or maybe even more graduates.
It's hard to have a particular highlight in five months but I think the thing for me was being thrown in to a real world project at such an early stage, and having the chance to influence people around me on that project."
