Q. What do I need to apply?

We're looking for applicants with a minimum of a 2.1 degree; however it's your personal qualities, experience and attitude we look at most closely. For example, your ability to solve problems, work in a team, and plan your time effectively.

Q. I did not study a relevant degree can I still apply?

For our technology roles we are ideally looking for Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths disciplines, however, we will consider other degrees if you are able to demonstrate a passion for technology and its' place in business. For other roles we consider all degree disciplines.

Q. Can I apply to more than one position which is advertised?

Yes, you can apply for more than one position and we will review your application against the criteria for each position.

Q. If I have been unsuccessful, can I apply again?

We require a minimum of six months to have passed before you can apply for the graduate scheme again.

Q. Do I have to be eligible to work in the UK to apply for a graduate position?

Yes, applicants are required to be eligible to work in the UK and we also require candidates attending interviews to bring a copy of their passport so we can take a photocopy to meet legal requirements.

Q. Overseas students

We're unable to provide sponsorship so you must have a valid right to work in the UK before we are able to progress you application.

Q. If my application is successful, when would I start?

Some graduate positions start immediately and some start during the summer months, it depends on the position. We'll discuss a potential start date with you in the telephone interview stage of the Selection Process.

Q. Would I have the opportunity to study for professional qualifications?

Yes, all of our graduates are given this opportunity and we'll always encourage you to further develop your skills.

Q. What is the closing date for applications?

We recruit all the way through the year and will fill our vacancies as soon as we find those candidates which meet our requirements. Apply early to avoid disappointment! We do suggest you look at the individual job description for closing dates that may apply to some roles.

Q. Can existing temporary staff apply for the graduate scheme?

We welcome any graduates to apply for the graduate programme.

Q. What support will I receive if I am successful and join RM?

You will be assigned a buddy who you can refer to if you have any questions or queries from your first day. You will be invited to 1 to 1 meetings with your manager to discuss how you are settling in and also provide any support you require.

What's more, you'll also have the opportunity to attend a number of soft skill courses to support your development. There is also the opportunity in some positions to attend external training courses.

Your graduate programme is designed to ensure that you receive all the support necessary for you to be successful in your role.

Q. How long will the application process take?

You will hear back from our graduate recruitment team within 7 working days from receiving your application. The whole process from submitting your application to offering you the role takes around 6 - 8 weeks (see our Selection Process for more details).

Q. I have been invited to book a telephone interview online, but there are no suitable timeslots, what do I do?

Please contact the recruitment team on graduates@rm.com or on 01235 854222 and we find more time slots for you to book onto.

Q. Do you reimburse for travel expenses during the recruitment process?

If you're invited to our offices for Assessment Days we will reimburse your expenses for your travel. You'll have a form to complete on arrival, which you'll need to complete and attach your travel receipts to. We will then process the payment; please allow 14 days for the expense claim to be processed and paid into your bank account.

Q. Am I able to receive feedback on my application?

We're unable to provide feedback on your application but we will provide comprehensive feedback on interviews and assessments.

Q. Where do I find out more information on finding a place to live?

Unless stated otherwise all our roles are based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. If you are relocating to the area, please contact the Recruitment Team who will be happy to provide some information on the local area.

Q. Am I given any help for when I am relocating?

Yes, RM do offer a relocation allowance of up to £1000 for graduates and £500 for placement students to help with the costs of relocating to the area. We require applicants to be living a minimum of 25 miles from the office in order for applicants to be eligible for the allowance.

Q. Can I get in contact with other graduates starting at the same time as me?

The recruitment team will put you in contact with other graduates that are also joining before you start so you can build your network early.
